Big News: Our New Partnership with Shedd Aquarium

Have you checked out our website lately? Chicago Belt Co. has a new, very exciting development!

We are proud to announce our partnership with Shedd Aquarium and its “Keep the Lakes Great” program. Shedd has such an awesome program committed to conserving the Great Lakes’ natural wonders and vital resources through education programs, conservation initiatives, and exciting events to raise awareness.

So, what does this mean? It means that now when you buy one of our “Great Lakes” belts, 10% of the proceeds go to Shedd to support its “Keep the Lakes Great” program.

If you want more information, check out the “Keep the Lakes Great” site today at http://www.sheddaquarium.org/greatlakes.

Tacky Christmas Sweaters vs. Holiday Belts

Tacky holiday sweaters are great – when else can you wear oversized, chunky knits featuring giant snowmen, sewed on bells, blinking Christmas lights, and obnoxious red and green colors? However, if you’re looking for a more stylish and casual way to show your holiday spirit, Chicago Belt Co. has a solution for you.

Chicago Belt Co. holiday belts will soon be available in three different designs on our website! These belts are perfect for themed holiday parties, work, family Christmas festivities, or a night out on the town during the holiday season. Like the entire Chicago Belt Co. line, these belts are functional, versatile, and distinctive without being over-the-top (à la the Dunfy family’s sweaters on Modern Family).

Stay tuned for more details about when our holiday line will be available. Thanks for visiting!

Things to Do This November

Inspired by Chicago magazine, which recently came out with a “Five Best Things to Do In November List,” I decided to create my own to-do list for this month.

1.)   Try a new breakfast place. Some of my top contenders include: Hot Chocolate, Lula Café, Mercadito, M. Henry, Nosh…check out this month’s Chicago magazine for more suggestions (including what to order)

2.)  Do this with extra Halloween chocolate candy bars. I made them tonight and they are amazing. Plus with so few ingredients and steps: they are super easy.

3.)  Still in the Halloween mood? Take a hint from Chicago magazine’s list and check out one of these spooky events

4.)  Get a drink at the Barrelhouse Flat: Lincoln Park’s new speakeasy-inspired bar. With a 70+ cocktail list, 2 stories, and old school décor – including a piano and a jukebox, it is the perfect place to go for a drink.

5.)   Get a Chicago Belt Co. belt (of course) – stay tuned for four new patterns; including a holiday print

What is on your to-do list this month???
